Skafe
CATAMARAN BEACHED AFTER CREW TAKEN OFF Criccieth, Caernarvonshire. At 1.25 on the afternoon of the 2nd June, 1963, members of the life-boat crew saw the catamaran Skafe capsize off Black Rock beach. At 1.40 the life-boat Robert Lindsay was launched in a strong easterly breeze and a rough sea. The tide was half flood. A helicopter also took off. The two people on board the catamaran were taken off by the crew of a motor boat, and another motor boat took the Skafe in tow. The tow was later taken over by the life-boat, and the catamaran was beached on Black Rock beach. The life-boat reached her station at 4.30..
