The Societe Nationale des Hospital- iers Sauveteurs Bretons has awarded its silver medal for saving life with diploma to Sergeant E. C. Smith of the Royal Air Force for the rescue by helicopter of two of the crew of the trawler Jeanne Gougy of Dieppe on the 3rd November,1962. The Sennen Cove and Penlee life- boats were launched on this occasion, and a full account of this service appeared on page 429 of the March 1963 number of the Life-boat.
