At 6.5 on the evening of the 30th April, 1963, the coastguard informed the honorary secretary that the trawler Dorothy of Grimsby had run short of fuel half a mile east of Dimlington. The life-boat City of Bradford III was launched at 6.17 in a light westerly breeze and a slight sea. It was one hour after low water.
