At 6.5 on the evening of the 30th April, 1963, the coastguard informed the honorary secretary that the trawler Dorothy of Grimsby had run short of fuel half a mile east of Dimlington. The life-boat reached the Dorothy, which had a crew of six, and took her in tow into Grimsby, arriving at 9.30. The life-boat then returned to her station, arriving at 10.10..
