SMALL BOAT TAKEN IN TOW Newhaven, Sussex. At 9.30 on the evening of the 7th May, 1963, the police informed the honorary secretary that a man had put to sea in the afternoon in a small boat and had not yet returned.

At 9.40 the life-boat Kathleen Mary was launched in light airs and a smooth sea.

It was two hours before high water. The life-boat found the small boat two miles south of Peacehaven and towed her back to Newhaven, reaching her station at eleven o'clock..
