MOTOR FISHING VESSEL FOUND IN FOG Rosslare Harbour, Co. Wexford. At 7.15 on the evening of the 9th October, 1962, a customs officer was walking along the pier when he saw a flare being burnt in the direction of Splaugh rock.

He informed the two life-boat motor mechanics, who were also walking along the pier, and then took them by car to the watch hut to see the honorary secretary. The life-boat H. F. Bailey, on temporary duty at the station, left her moorings at 7.45 in a light southeasterly breeze and a calm sea. It was low water and visibility was poor, due to fog. At 8.30 the life-boat found the motor fishing boat Sari Marls of Rosslare with a crew of three. Her engine had broken down, and the life-boat towed her to Rosslare Harbour, reaching her moorings at 9.10..
