TOW FOR CABIN CRUISER NEAR ROCKS Peterhead, Aberdeenshire. At 1.32 on the afternoon of the 17th October, 1962, the coastguard reported that a small cabin cruiser appeared to have broken down half a mile south of Boddam, and at 1.45 the life-boat Julia Park Barry, of Glasgow was launched. There was a light westerly breeze and a smooth sea, and the tide was flooding. The life-boat found the 16-foot cabin cruiser Lillian of Aberdeen, with a crew of two, bound from Hopeman for Aberdeen. Her engine had broken down and she was nearly on the rocks. The life-boat rescued the two people and towed the Lillian to Peterhead harbour, which was reached at 3.2..
