Two Rubber Dinghies

RESCUE OF YOUTHS IN DINGHIES New Quay, Cardiganshire. At 10.12 on the morning of the 14th August, 1962, the coastguard reported that two rubber dinghies were drifting out to sea half a mile off Aberayron. At 10.40 the life-boat St. Albans was launched. There was a fresh easterly breeze, the sea was rough, and the tide was half ebb. The life-boat found the dinghies three miles north-east of New Quay, each with a youth aboard, The coastguard had asked for a helicopter to come from Brawdy, but the life-boat rescued the two young men before the helicopter arrived.
