THE photograph on the cover is of Coxswain Alfred Cadman, D.S.M., of Dover. Although he was appointed coxswain as recently as August, 1960, the demands on the Dover life-boat have been such that since his appointment she has been launched on service 41 times and has rescued 30 lives.
