LAUNCH TO TWO COBLES IN ROUGH SEA Whitby, Yorkshire. At 9.15 on the morning of the 13th April, 1962, the second coxswain called the attention of the honorary secretary to the fact that the sea was becoming rough at the harbour bar and that several local fishing cobles were still at sea. The honorary secretary decided that the life-boat Mary Ann Hepworth should be launched, and she put out at 9.30.

There was a fresh north-north-westerly wind and a heavy swell. It was two and a half hours before high water. The life-boat stood by the bar until two fishing cobles, Little Lady and Guide Me, had reached the harbour safely and then returned to her station, arriving at 10.55..
