A Dinghy (1)
LIFE-BOAT STANDS BY AS SPEEDBOAT TOWS DINGHY Skegness, Lincolnshire. At 9.10 on the morning of the 22nd April, 1962, the coastguard informed the honorary secretary that three men in a 14-foot dinghy were signalling for help half a mile east of Chapel Point. The life-boat The Cuttle was launched at 9.40 in a moderate westerly wind and a slight sea.
It was one hour after low water. The life-boat reached the position just as the dinghy, whose outboard motor had broken down, was being towed ashore by a speedboat. The life-boat stood by until the men had been landed safely and then returned to her station, arriving at 11.30..
