Sunshine

Amble, Northumberland. At 9.10 on the morning of the 29th December, 1961, the coastguard informed the honorary secretary that the fishing vessel Sunshine of Port Seton was making for Amble. Because of the severe weather it was suggested that the life-boat should be launched to stand by the harbour bar.

At 9.33 the life-boat Millie Walton left her moorings in a strong north-westerly wind and very rough sea. It was one hour after high water. The life-boat stood by until the Sunshine had entered harbour safely and reached her moor- ings at 10.21..
