Wicklow. At 3.32 on the afternoon of the 22nd October, 1961, the coxswain learnt that a fishing boat was in difficulties about two miles north of the harbour. At 3.35 the life-boat /. W.

Archer was launched in a south-by- westerly wind of near gale force and a choppy sea. It was low water. The life- boat found the fishing boat St. John of Wicklow with a crew of two. Her engine had broken down and her anchor and cable had been lost. The St. John was taken in tow to harbour, and the life- boat reached her station at 4.40..
