Polly Cook
Workington, Cumberland. At 11.20 on the morning of the 2nd October, 1961, the coastguard informed the honorary secretary that a trawler was drifting a mile and a half off Working- ton. The life-boat Manchester and Salford XXIX left her moorings at 11.26 in a light southerly breeze and a smooth sea. It was one hour before low water.
The life-boat found the trawler Polly Cook with a crew of two. The trawler's engine had broken down, and the life- boat towed her to 'Workington, arriving at 12.20..
