Janet

Bridlington, Yorkshire. At 10.30 on the morning of the 4th December, 1961, the harbour master informed the honor- ary secretary that one of the fish mer- chants had heard that the motor fishing vessel Janet had steering trouble. As the weather was growing worse it was decided to launch the life-boat Tillie Morrison Sheffield II. A number of other fishing vessels were also at sea. The life- boat was launched at 11.15 in a south- easterly gale and a rough sea; it was two and a half hours before high water.

She found the Janet off Flamborough Head and escorted her to harbour. Nine other fishing vessels were also escorted to harbour, and the life-boat reached her station at 3.45..
