Negus
Dunbar, East Lothian. At 8.15 on the morning of the 24th August, 1961, the coastguard informed the honorary sec- retary that the fishing boat Negus with two men aboard was in difficulties near the rocks off Dunbar harbour and needed help. At 8.30 the life-boat Margaret was launched at low water.
There was a moderate off-shore breeze and the sea was smooth. The life-boat found the Negus, which was unable to use her engines, as a rope was fouling her propeller. She took the Negus in tow and returned to her station, arriving at 8.50..
