Laura II

Moelfre, Anglesey. At 11.20 on the morning of the 8th July, 1961, the coastguard informed the honorary sec- retary that a motor boat, whose engine had failed, was being rapidly carried out to sea on the ebb tide. There was a fresh south-westerly wind with a slight sea, and the tide was half ebb. The Moelfre life-boat Watkin Williams, was launched at 11.30. She found the motor boat, which was the Laura II of Traith Buchan with one man on board, a mile and a half north-east of Traith Buchan Point. The life-boat towed the boat into Traith Buchan beach, returning to her station at 12.35..
