Gwylan

New Quay, Cardiganshire. At 9.10 on the morning of the 14th August, 1961, the coastguard informed the honorary secretary that a fishing boat had been seen flying a distress signal and was drifting towards the Beach rocks. At 9.27 the life-boat St. Albans was launched in a moderate north-north- westerly breeze and a smooth sea. It was one hour before high water. The life-boat came up with the fishing boat Gwylan at 9.54 and took her in tow.

The Gwylan's crew of three remained on board her, and the life-boat brought her into New Quay harbour, which was reached at eleven o'clock..
