Rhyl, Flintshire. At 4.25 on the after- noon of the 15th September, 1961, the coastguard informed the honorary secretary that a yacht appeared to be broken down five to six miles north-by- west of the coastguard look-out. The life-boat Anthony Robert Marshall was launched at 4.39 in a south-westerly wind of near gale force and a rough sea.

It was two hours after high water. The life-boat found the yacht Blue Nobby, but there was no one on board. Be- cause of the state of the weather the coxswain decided to take the yacht in tow, and the life-boat reached her station at ten o'clock..
