Great Yarmouth and Gorleston, Nor- folk. At 8.15 on the evening of the 7th July, 1961, the Chief Constable of Yar- mouth asked for the life-boat to meet a ship in the Yarmouth roads and collect a body which had been picked up about five miles east of Gorton light.

At 8.30 the life-boat Louise Stephens was launched on the ebb tide in a light south-easterly breeze with the Chief Constable and a policeman aboard. The body was taken from the Atlantic Coast and brought to harbour, and the life- boat then returned to her station, arriving at 9.10..
