At 3.45 on the after- noon of the 28th August, 1961, the coastguard informed the honorary sec- retary that he had a white object under observation, which might be a capsized yacht, and advised the launching of the life-boat. At 3.50 on an ebbing tide the life-boat Anthony Robert Marshall was launched. There was a slight sea with a fresh south-south-westerly breeze. The life-boat made for the position given and found that the white object was an abandoned outboard twin-engine motor cruiser. She took the motor cruiser in tow and returned to her station, arriving at 6.50..
