A Dinghy

Hastings, Sussex. On the afternoon of the 2nd July, 1961, while the Hastings regatta was taking place, news was received that a small dinghy belonging to the local angling association was lying some distance off shore and mak- ing no headway. There was a fresh north-easterly breeze and a moderate sea. A message was passed to the life- boat M.T.C., which was standing by during the regatta, and she found the dinghy, whose engine had failed. Be- cause of the heavy wind and sea it was not possible for the three men on board to row, and the life-boat took the dinghy in tow, returning to her station at five o'clock..
