A Dinghy (10)
Humber, Yorkshire. At eleven o'clock on the morning of the 11th September, 1961, the coastguard informed the coxswain superintendent that a small dinghy with four people on board was in difficulties at the mouth of the river.
The life-boat City of Bradford III was launched at 11.12 in a light north- westerly breeze and a smooth sea. It was two hours before high water. The life-boat found the dinghy with a man and three children on board. The man refused help, but the life-boat stood by until he had beached the dinghy at Kilnsea and he and the children were safely ashore. The life-boat reached her station at 1.18..
