The Seine-Net Fishing Vessel Mizpah

Cullercoats, Northumberland. At o.30 on the evening of the 27th April, 1961, the life-boat Isaac and Mary Bolton was launched on exercise in a light north- easterly breeze with a slight sea and fog.

Half-a-mile from the beach the seine-net fishing vessel Mizpah was found heading towards rocks. The life-boat escorted her to the entrance to the river Tyne and then continued the exercise.

She returned to her station at 8.15..
