Rhyl, Flintshire. At 10.52 on the night of the 14th May, 1961, a report was received from the Golden Sands holiday camp that a yacht had capsized half-a-mile off shore in Kinmel Bay.

Three minutes later, when the life-boat Anthony Robert Marshall was launched, there was a moderate wind and sea and it was high water. The crew of two of the yacht Onyx had been picked up by another yacht. The life-boat righted the Onyx, towed her to Rhyl and reach- ed her station at 1.15 that afternoon..
