Dover, Kent. At 12.32 early on the morning of the 9th June, 1961, the coastguard informed the honorary sec- retary that the Polish motor vessel Nowa Huta and the German vessel Ingrid Leonhardt had been in collision ten miles east-by-south of Dover east pier light. There was a light westerly wind with a slight sea and an ebb tide. At 1.5 the life-boat Southern Africa was launched. She stood by the Nowa Huta until the arrival of French tugs. The life- boat returned to her station at 7.30..
