Howth, Co. Dublin. At 5.5 on the evening of the 3rd June, 1961, the coxswain was informed that someone had fallen over the cliffs at the Nose of Howth. Ten minutes later the life-boat R.P.L. put to sea with her boarding boat in tow. There was a light south- westerly breeze with a smooth sea, and it was two hours after high water. When the life-boat reached the position the boarding boat was sent inshore and the body of a man was found. It was transferred to the life-boat and landed at Howth at six o'clock..
