Harvest Queen

North Sunderland, Northumberland.

At eleven o'clock on the night of the 14th May, 1961, the honorary secretary was informed that the local fishing boat Harvest Queen had broken down and was in need of help. At 11.20, when the life-boat Grace Darling was launched, there was a light south-easterly wind with a slight sea. It was one hour after low water. The life-boat found the Harvest Queen three miles north-east of Seahouses, towed her to North Sunder- land and reached her station again at 12.35 early the next morning..
