Fishing Cobles (1)

Boulmer, Northumberland. At 2.20 on the afternoon of the 4th April, 1961, the honorary secretary noticed that three local fishing cobles appeared to be in difficulties. At 2.45, when the life- boat Clarissa Langdon was launched, there was a fresh south-easterly wind with a moderate sea and a flooding tide.

She escorted the cobles to safety and returned to her station at 3.45..
