Bridlington, Yorkshire. At 2.45 on the afternoon of the 4th April, 1961, the harbour master informed the honorary secretary that six local fishing boats were still at sea. At 3.15, when the life- boat Tillie Morrison, Sheffield II was launched with the second coxswain in command, the wind, which was from south-by-east, was of near gale force and the sea was very rough. It was rain- ing heavily and visibility was poor. The tide was two hours ebb. By 5.15 the six fishing boats had been safely escorted to the harbour and the life-boat returned to her station..
