Askadel

Dunbar, East Lothian. At 1.30 on the afternoon of the 18th June, 1961, the coastguard informed the honorary sec- retary that a yacht had been seen trying to make harbour. A westerly gale was blowing with a rough sea. At 1.50 the life-boat Margaret put out at low water.

Four miles east of Dunbar she found the yacht Askadel with her engine damaged.

The life-boat towed the Askadel, which had a crew of three, to harbour andthen returned to her station, arriving at three o'clock..
