Arthur Frederick Evans

ARTHUR FREDERICK EVANS died on the 24th May, 1961, at the age of 89.

He was appointed Surveyor of Machinery of the Institution in 1914, a position which he held until his retire- ment in 1926. He was largely responsible for the development of the first type of watertight petrol engine used in life- boats..
