Moelfre, Anglesey. At nine o'clock on the evening of the 25th May, 1961, the coastguard informed the honorary sec- retary that a boat from the tanker North Monarch of Monrovia had broken down a mile to the north-east. At 9.10, when the life-boat Watkin Williams was launched, there was a fresh north- easterly wind with a rough sea and it was high water.
