Sea Belle

St. Helier, Jersey. At 2.10 on the after- noon of the 16th of March, 1961, the coastguard informed the honorary secretary that the fishing boat Sea Belle of Jersey had engine trouble one mile south of Maison Rocks. The weather was fine, with no wind, and the sea was smooth.

At 2.40 the life-boat Elizabeth Rippon was launched on the flood tide. The Sea Belle was found at anchor with a defect- ive clutch, which could not be repaired.

The life-boat towed her clear and re- turned to her station at 6.55..
