St. Peter Port, Guernsey. At one o'clock on the afternoon of the 26th of February, 1961, the honorary secretary received a telephone message from the Island Commission of St. John Ambu- lance that the ambulance launch was under repair and two patients on the Island of Sark needed hospital treat- ment in Guernsey. As no other suitable boat was available and the weather was bad the services of the life-boat were requested. A strong southerly wind was blowing with a high sea when the life- boat Euphrosyne Kendal was launched at 2.30, shortly before high water. The two patients were embarked and brought to St. Peter Port, where they were taken to hospital. The life-boat returned to her station at 4.40..
