Fishing Boats (1)

Filey, Yorkshire. At 12.40 on the after- noon of the 2nd of March, 1961, when weather conditions were bad, the coast- guard and the honorary secretary dis- cussed the desirability of launching the life-boat, as nine fishing vessels were still at sea. At 12.51 the maroons were fired, and at one o'clock the life-boat The Isa andPenryn Milstedwas launched.

There was a strong westerly wind caus- ing a rough sea; the tide was half flood.

The vessels were safely escorted to Filey, and the life-boat returned to her station at 6.15..
