An Open Fishing Boat

Ballycotton, Co. Cork. At 6.15 on the evening of the 6th of February, 1961, the mechanic told the honorary secre- tary that a seventeen-feet open fishing boat was drifting out to sea. There was a westerly wind of gale force when the life-boat Ethel Mary put out at 6.35. It was high water. The life-boat reached the fishing boat ten minutes later and towed her back to harbour, reaching her station at 7.30..
