A Sailing Dinghy

Shoreham Harbour, Sussex. At 4.12 on the afternoon of the 31st of March, 1961, the coastguard informed the hon- orary secretary that a sailing dinghy had capsized about a mile and a half off Chandlers Corner, Lancing, and that her crew were in the water. At 4.35 the life-boat Rosa Woodd and Phyllis Lunn was launched. There was a gentle west- south-westerly wind with a slight sea. It was two hours before low water. When the life-boat reached the scene the dinghy was being righted by another vessel. She stood by until both vessels reached the shore and then returned to her station, arriving at 7.40..
