A Boat

Cullercoats, Northumberland. At 12.10 on the afternoon of the 29th of January, 1961, the coxswain was told that a small boat was in difficulties off Cullercoats. In the absence of the honorary secretary he ordered the life- boat to be launched. At 12.29 the life- boat Isaac and Mary Bolton was launched into a strong south-westerly wind and a moderate sea. It was two hours before high water. The life-boat reached the boat at 12.45. She took on board the two men as well as their boat, which had had an engine failure.

The life-boat returned to her station at 1.15..
