Lady Florence
Ramsgate, Kent. At 6.41 on the evening of the 7th of November, 1960, the watchman on the east pier told the honorary secretary that a boat had been seen in Pegwell Bay flashing a lamp and apparently needing help. There was a light westerly wind and a slight sea.
The tide was ebbing when the life-boat Michael and Lily Davis was launched at 6.50. She found the motor boat Lady Florence a mile and a half off Ramsgate with engine trouble. The life-boat towed the Lady Florence into Ramsgate harbour and returned to her station at 7.30..
