A Liberty Boat from H.M.S. Ganges

Clacton-on-Sea, Essex. At 6.5 on the morning of the 19th of November, 1960, the coastguard informed the honorary secretary that a vessel two miles from the Barrow Deep lightvessel was trying to attract attention. The life-boat Sir Godfrey Baring was launched at 7.35.

It was an hour and a half after high water, and the weather was calm with fog. The life-boat found a liberty boat from H.M.S. Ganges and escorted her into Harwich harbour, returning to her station at four o'clock..
