Tomasina

Yarmouth, Isle of Wight. At 4.27 on the afternoon of the 14th of July, 1960, the coastguard informed the honorary secretary that a sailing dinghy had cap- sized in the Solent between Lymington Spit buoy and Fort Albert. The life- boat S.G.E. was launched at 4.37 in a fresh south-westerly breeze and a rough sea. It was high water. As the life- boat was approaching the casualty, which was the yacht Tomasina, the yacht's crew of two were picked up by a motor launch, which was on passage from Hurst to Yarmouth. The yacht was righted and taken in tow by the life-boat, which arrived back at her station at 6.10. Property salvage case..
