A moderate west-south-westerly wind was blowing with a choppy sea, and it was the first hour of the flood tide. At 5.12 the life-boat Rosa Woodd and Phyllis Limn was launched. She found the yacht Pippa, whose crew asked to be taken into Shoreham Har- bour. They had engine trouble, all had been sea-sick, and they had been with- out food for thirty-six hours.
