Lillibet

Ramsgate, Kent. At 10.17 on the morning of the 19th of August, 1960, the coastguard passed on to the honorary secretary a report from the Kentish Knock lightvessel that the yacht Lillibet was proceeding towards Middle Knock buoy with her sails carried away and her ensign flying up- side down. The life-boat Michael and Lily Davis was launched at 10.30 in a slight west-north-westerly breeze and a slight sea. It was higo water. The life- boat came up with the yacht, which had a crew of five on board, and found her foresail had carried away and her engine was out of action. She towed her into harbour and returned to her station at 2.22. Property salvage case..
