A Motor Boat

St. Abbs, Berwickshire. At 9.45 on the morning of the 28th August, 1960, the coxswain told the honorary secre- tary that some anxiety was felt for a local fisherman, who had last been seen to the westward of St. Abbs in his small motor boat. The life-boat W. Ross Macarthur of Glasgow was launched at ten o'clock on the ebb tide in a gentle south-easterly breeze and a slight sea.

The life-boat found the fishing boat Vera anchored off Swindowne about three miles west-north-west of St. Abbs Head. She towed her back to harbour, returning to her station at 11.10. Re- wards to the crew, £6; rewards to the helpers on shore, £1 17s..
