A Canoe (1)

Dover, Kent. At 3.5 on the afternoon of the 11th of July, 1960, a report was received that a canoe had capsized in Dover harbour. The life-boat Southern Africa put out at 3.15 in a fresh south- westerly gale and a moderate sea. It was two hours after high water. The life-boat picked up one man and the canoe. Another man who had been in the canoe had swum ashore. The life- boat arrived back at her station at 4.15.
