Newhaven, Sussex. At 9.12 on the evening of the 17th of April, I960, the coastguard informed the honorary secretary that a yacht needed help off the west pier. At 9.30 the life-boat Kathleen Mary was launched at low water in a light north-north-easterly wind and a slight sea. She found the yacht Geordie, which had six people on board, with her engine broken down.
