Fishing Cobles

Filey, Yorkshire. On the morning of the 18th of May, 1960, three local fishing cobles were working under Bempton cliffs in bad weather, and it was decided to launch the life-boat The Isa & Penryn Milsted. She left at 9.50, with the second coxswain in i command, two hours before high water in a strong north-north-easterly wind and a rough sea. The weather was overcast with poor visibility. The life- boat escorted the three cobles to har- bour and reached her station at noon.
