At 7.30 the life-boat Edian Courtauld put out, two hours after high water, in light airs and a smooth sea. She reached the Arasjo at 9.55, and the coxswain was transferred to her in the ship's launch to discuss the situation with the master. At the master's request the life-boat stood by through the morning and the afternoon, and at 4.45 the Arasjo refloated under her own power.
