Pepita

Walton and Frinton, Essex. At 12.15 on the afternoon of the 13th of Novem- ber, 1959, the coastguard informed the honorary secretary that the motor barge Pepita had broken down with engine trouble near Andrew's Spit.

At 12.45 the life-boat Edian Courtauld left her moorings in a southerly gale.

There was a very rough sea and it was two hours after high water. When the life-boat reached her the barge's engine had been repaired, and the life-boat escorted her into Harwich harbour.

The life-boat reached her station at 3.5.
