Port St. Mary, Isle of Man. At 3.10 on the afternoon of the 30th of Decem- ber, 1959, the life-boat R. A. Colby Cubbin No. 2 was launched to take pro- visions to the light-keepers on Chicken Rock lighthouse, who had been cut off for nearly three weeks because of con- tinuous bad weather. There was a strong south-westerly wind and a rough sea. It was one hour below low water. The life-boat could not get alongside the lighthouse landing, but the provisions were successfully hauled ashore by line. The life-boat then returned to her station, arriving at 5.40.
